The St. Vincent de Paul Society is an international Catholic organization of laypersons, founded in 1883 by Frederic Ozanam and his companions, and inspired by the work of St. Vincent de Paul. Now numbering approximately one million members in 131 countries, the Society seeks to help those who are suffering.
Person to person involvement is essential to the Vincentian mission and can include any assistance that promotes human dignity and integrity. The Society is concerned not only with relieving need but also with redressing the situations that cause it, serving persons regardless of creed, opinion, color, and origin, among whom are immigrants, transients, orphans, the abandoned or rejected, or any who find themselves among others who are indifferent or hostile.
The Princeton Conference of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul serves in coordination with the Diocese of Trenton. Members meet personally with neighbors seeking support and financial assistance. All conversations are confidential, and each person is treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.
St. Vincent De Paul typically meets in the evenings on the first Tuesday of the month.
