Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow; they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not clothed like one of these.
Matthew 6:28-29
In their color, fragrance, and life, flowers are silent, living songs of praise to the glory of God revealed in creation. They transform the altar and sanctuary into a glimpse of God’s heavenly garden and remind us of the Resurrection and eternal life. When we adorn our church, we are saying ‘Lord, we bring to You the best and most beautiful of Your creation, a sign of our love, reverence, and joy.
The Sanctuary Guild supports the Liturgy by enhancing the sanctuary and church spaces with plants, flowers, banners, and other decorative elements. In keeping with the liturgical calendar, the Guild plans, secures, arranges, installs, and removes these items to deepen the beauty, reverence, and prayerfulness of worship throughout the year, especially during Christmas and Easter.
Volunteers are welcome during Christmas and Easter, when decorating is spread out over several days. Time commitments are flexible.
