St. Paul

Our parish is entrusted to the patronage of St. Paul the Apostle, one of the great evangelists of the early Church. Once a persecutor of Christians, Paul encountered the risen Christ on the road to Damascus and experienced a conversion that transformed the course of his life. From that encounter, he became a tireless missionary, carrying the Gospel to new communities and proclaiming Christ across the ancient world.

His patronage is especially fitting for a parish whose own story began with missionary priests bringing the Catholic faith to a small and growing community in Princeton. From the first recorded Mass here in 1795 to the diverse and vibrant parish of today, St. Paul Parish has continued that same call to proclaim the Gospel, welcome others into the life of Christ, and carry our faith beyond the walls of our church.

St. Paul reminds us that faith is never meant to remain still. It calls us to conversion, courage, service, and witness. Across generations, his example has challenged our parish community to remain rooted in Christ while continually finding new ways to share the Gospel with the people and community around us.

As St. Paul himself wrote, “We are ambassadors for Christ, as if God were appealing through us.” (2 Corinthians 5:20)
