I am the resurrection and the life: those who believe in me, though they should die, will come to life; and those who are alive and believe in me will never die.
John 11:25-26
The Christian faith proclaims the hope of the Resurrection and reminds us that, even in grief, we are never alone. Through prayer, compassionate presence, and acts of kindness, the parish community seeks to accompany those who mourn the loss of a loved one.
The Bereavement Ministry at St. Paul Parish supports families by assisting with the planning of the Funeral Mass and offering compassionate care throughout the grieving process. Ministry volunteers:
Meet with families to help plan the Funeral Mass and select the appropriate readings, prayers, and music.
Facilitate bereavement support groups offered twice each year for those who have experienced the loss of a loved one.
Plan the parish's annual Mass of Remembrance celebrated on the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed (All Souls' Day) on November 2
If you are planning a Funeral Mass, seeking bereavement support, or would like to volunteer with this ministry, please connect with us below and Eileen will follow up with you.
Funeral planning typically begins with a meeting with a member of the Bereavement Ministry. When a funeral home is involved, it will coordinate with the parish to schedule the Funeral Mass and planning meeting. If a funeral home is not involved, families should contact the parish office directly at 609-924-1743.
