Catechesis of the Good Shepherd is based on the belief that even the youngest children possess a deep, receptive capacity for God. Instead of traditional lectures, Catechesis uses hands-on materials in a retreat-like space, helping children develop a personal relationship with God by exploring Scripture and liturgy at their individual pace. The teacher serves as a guide, asking open-ended questions that allow the child to reflect and build their own vital relationship with Christ.
The program in St. Paul Parish is designed for children from ages 3-6, and focuses on the parable of the Good Shepherd, introducing basic elements of the Liturgy. Participants meet in the Spiritual Center Atrium on Sundays between the 8:30am and 11:30am Masses.
