Matthew 25:35Loaves & Fishes is a local outreach program that serves hot meals to the Trenton community on the last two Saturdays of every month. For nearly 40 years, this outreach program has invited local parishes and communities throughout Central Jersey to gather, prepare, and serve the meal.
On Saturday, June 19, 2027, our parish will distribute more than 400 meals and donations at St. Mary Cathedral to residents of the Trenton area experiencing food and housing insecurity. Donation items will be collected in the SPS Cafeteria on Friday, June 18.
Families are especially encouraged to serve together. Children who are old enough to participate meaningfully and assist with the work are welcome to serve alongside their parents or guardians, making Loaves & Fishes a wonderful opportunity to put our faith into action as a family.

How Can I help?

Friday, June 18
Drop off at the St. Paul School Cafeteria 9:00am-2:00pm- Make/drop off a meatloaf (pans will be handed out at Masses the weekend before Loaves & Fishes)
- Healthy snack donations (protein bars, fruit cups, jerky, crackers, tuna packs, dried fruit, juice pouches, etc)
- Toiletry item donations (toothpaste, individually wrapped toothbrushes, soap, shampoo, deodorant)
- Cookies & brownies (no nuts)
- Reusable shopping bags

Friday, June 18
On-Site Volunteers- Meet at SPS Cafeteria 9:00am-2:00pm
- Help with preparations: Collect and sort donations, assemble toiletry packs and snack packs
- Assemble sandwiches
- Drive to St. Mary Cathedral to deliver donations
Saturday, June 19
Serve Meals- at St. Mary Cathedral 8:00am-1:00pm
- at St. Mary Cathedral 8:00am-1:00pm
- at St. Mary Cathedral 8:00am-11:00am
Getting to the Cathedral- Address: 151 N. Warren Street, Trenton, NJ 08608
- Perry St. becomes Bank St.; pass the Cathedral on the left.
- Enter the parking lot just behind the Cathedral on your left.
- If the church parking lot is full, use large municipal parking lot just behind.
- If the entrance to the municipal parking lot from Bank Street is closed, drive on to circle the block making left turns finally making a right onto Barnes Street and then a right turn onto the municipal parking lot.
- The cafeteria is right below the Cathedral; the entry is from N. Chancery Lane, the small parking lot in 4.

Monetary donations can be made online, mailed to the church, or dropped in the collection basket. Please mark for “Loaves & Fishes.”
On the weekend of June 11-12 (to be confirmed), we will have a special collection at all Masses for donations.
