Marriage Ministry

Marriage is a joyful vocation and a sacred commitment. St. Paul Parish accompanies couples as they prepare for married life and the celebration of Holy Matrimony through Pre-Cana and our parish Marriage Ministry.

Pre-Cana

Pre-Cana is the proximate (immediate) sacramental preparation for couples preparing for Holy Matrimony. Its name recalls the Wedding Feast at Cana, where Christ was present with a newly married couple and performed his first public miracle. St. Paul Parish supports the Diocese of Trenton in preparing couples intentionally for the vocation and sacrament of marriage.

Our Pre-Cana team includes married parishioners at different stages of life and with a breadth of experiences. These witness couples reflect on particular aspects of married life, sharing their experiences and faith to offer engaged couples an authentic glimpse into its joys, challenges, and graces.

Our team serves couples marrying at St. Paul Parish as well as those preparing for marriage throughout the wider community.

Marriage Ministry

Our Marriage Ministry provides personal and practical support for couples celebrating their wedding at St. Paul Parish. This dedicated team of volunteers accompanies couples through the rehearsal and wedding day, allowing them and their families to focus more fully on the sacredness of the occasion.

At the rehearsal, volunteers help the wedding party become familiar with the church, the liturgy, and their roles. On the wedding day, they assist with preparations and timing, coordinate details, and help ensure that the ceremony or Nuptial Mass unfolds smoothly and reverently.

Working alongside our clergy and parish staff, Marriage Ministry volunteers offer couples a knowledgeable and reassuring presence as they celebrate the sacrament and begin married life together.
