The Catholic Church recently canonized its first millennial saint—Carlo Acutis—in October of 2025! In 2023, Bishop O'Connell designated him a patron for youth and young people and for Catholic schools in the Diocese of Trenton. He has been a wonderful model of how to be a faithful young Catholic in the modern age. For 7th-grade students or 8th-grade students who did not have the opportunity to attend the DYC for your Confirmation Retreat, we have organized a unique chance to visit the Shrine of Blessed Carlo Acutis at St. Dominic Church in Brick on March 14. 7th Grade: This experience is in place of your third/final SPY 4:12 meeting for 2025-2026. 8th Grade: This will fulfill your retreat obligation for Confirmation if you missed DYC. The day will include: 1:00pm - presentation by Fr. Biran Woodrow, pastor of St. Dominic 2:00pm - veneration of St. Carlo's relic in the Candle Room 3:00pm - opportunity to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation (highly recommended before receiving Confirmation) Transportation details will be forthcoming, but we will need to know how many people plan to attend as soon as possible.
