Children planning to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Eucharist, or Confirmation at St. Paul Parish must be enrolled in the Parish Religious Education Program, attend St. Paul School, or attend another Catholic School in the Princeton area. Our parish policy is that students' complete curricula for both 1st and 2nd grades when preparing for the Sacraments of Reconciliation and First Eucharist as well as curricula for 6th-8th grades when preparing for the Sacrament of Confirmation.
**If your student is beyond 2nd or 8th grade and has not received the sacraments for those grade levels, please contact the Office of Religious Education to make arrangements to get them caught up**
Children attending PREP will be registered for the sacrament when registering for PREP.
If your child is enrolled in a Princeton area Catholic School (i.e. St. Paul School, Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart, Stuart Country Day School) where catechesis and sacramental preparation are part of the daily curriculum, you must register for the sacrament only. St. Paul Parish will collaborate with Religion teachers at your respective schools.
Please register for the sacraments by clicking here.
Additional Requirements for Sacramental Preparation include:
Acts of Faith
All children will be required to participate in Acts of Faith. On September 21, Catechetical Sunday, they will receive a “passport” to guide them in becoming more engaged in the Eucharist, their parish and faith community, and in serving others.
Grades K–7 will participate in 9 Acts of Faith.
Grade 8 will participate in 15 Acts of Faith.
Families may choose the opportunities that work best for their schedules.
