Join with our Bishop David M. O'Connell, CM, the Diocese of Trenton, and our St. Paul Parish family to pray this novena January 14-22, 2021 to end abortion.  St. Joseph,  Patron of the Universal Church  and Guardian of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the Child Jesus,  the Son of God whom she carried in her Immaculate womb:  intercede for us, we pray,  that all recourse to abortion  might cease in our nation and our world. 

Having now completed the celebration of the Christmas season as a parish family and acknowledging that it was under very different and challenging circumstances this year, I wish to highlight some aspects of our journey this year as a community of believers: 

Understanding that these are challenging times, we will offer three chances for parents to attend a First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Meeting. These will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 am. Tuesday, December 15th at 6:00 pm, and Sunday, December 20th at 11:00 am.  Religious Education families will find links to these meetings on Flip Grid. 

Understanding that these are challenging times, we will offer three chances for parents to attend a First Reconciliation and First Eucharist Meeting. These will be held on Saturday, December 5th at 10:00 am. Tuesday, December 15th at 6:00 pm, and Sunday, December 20th at 11:00 am. 

Our parish will gather for a Mass of Remembrance in memory of our faithful departed, particularly those who have died in the past year, on Monday, Nov. 2 at 7:00 pm in English at 8:30 pm in Spanish. Reservations are required.

During the month of November, we will be creating a virtual Altar of Remembrance on our parish website. You are invited to email a picture of your beloved deceased to be included. Please send pictures to photos@stpaulsofprinceton.org. 

What does this mean? Families will be provided digital texts, helpful videos, and in-home lesson plans for our parents. Each week, families will complete one asigned lesson. Review the chapter from your book, watch any associated videos, and complete the weekly e-assessment. There isn't a specific time that you have to gather, just find some time during the week, and take a look together.

Each year at this time we gather as a family at ParishFest to celebrate the many diverse cultures that make up the Catholic Community of Princeton. A major component of this event is the sharing of ethnic dishes with one another. Because of the COVID 19 restrictions this year we cannot gather together to share a meal. However, we can still feed one another and the broader Princeton Community. 

These are the safety precautions in place for our celebration of First Eucharist this Fall. 

The Office of Religious Education has determined that we will begin our year remotely. This decision will also apply to sacramental formation. The best guidance available to us from the Diocesan and Civil authorities, suggests that this is the best course of action at this time. 

Summer Academy begins on Monday, July 20. At 10:00 AM we will have a parent meeting, where we will discuss the resources we will be using, and expectations for the 2-week program. If you had registered before July 17th, you should have already received an email with your children's catechist, digital book links and pass codes, and a Flipgrid identifier. This information will be required to participate in Summer Academy. 

Summer Academy begins on Monday, July 20 and will run Monday-Friday until July 31. Children will either live stream or watch a recording of the daily 8:15 AM Mass. They will also complete two chapters and an activity assigned by their catechist for the 10 days. They complete their chapters,activities, and reviews by 3 PM to be checked by their catechist. 

Schools of the Diocese of Trenton will be closed through May 8, 2020. Therefore, the celebration of First Eucharist will need to be postponed until it has been determined to be safe to gather once again. Parish staff will continue to meet remotely, and monitor the situation. Please know that whatever option we pursue, steps will be made to assure that this is a special experience for the children.
